STRIDE Adaptive Sports: Easter Offering

For over 165 years, First Congregational Church has been helping to enrich the lives of those in our community. Each week, our church hosts a variety of events ranging from neighborhood meetings and Cornell cooking classes to music and theatrical events as well as exercise and wellness programs with NNORC for the senior members of our community. Key to our outreach efforts, First Congregational looks for opportunities to share our offerings with partner organizations who are doing their part to improve the wellbeing of our residents.

This season, we would like to highlight the exceptional work being undertaken by STRIDE Adaptive Sports.  Headquartered in the Capital District, STRIDE offers year-round sports and recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities, focusing on youth and Wounded Warriors. Over 300 sports instructors have volunteered their time and talents to provide programs at throughout the Northeast. STRIDE partners with Disabled Sports USA and is a US Paralympic Sport Club and training club for New York Special Olympics.  For its commitment to improving recreational access to ALL our neighbors and breaking down barriers, First Congregational Church is pleased to announce that this year’s Easter Offering will be shared with STRIDE.

Donations can be made by visiting our donations page and indicating your donation is to support our Easter Mission. Your Easter offering can also be made during church services at 10:30am or by mail, with a note letting us know how you are doing.

First Congregational would like to thank you for your continued support of our community and we look forward to hearing from you soon. Together we can ensure that all our neighbors have access to the rich majesty of God’s resources.
